Chassis and Suspension: Original 1936 Ford framejigged by Larry Rathburn of Allegheny Speed Shop in Catawba, VA. Griffin alloyradiator. Chassis Engineering parallel elliptic rear springs and rear sway bar.Ford 9 inch rear axle (3.25:1),customdrive shaft. Pete and Jake\'s 4”dropped front axle and shock absorbers with split wishbones, a reversed eyespring and front disc brakes.. GM steering box. Custom steel wheels with \'49caps and Diamond Back Classic Whitewall radial tires (205/65 X15 front,235/75X15 rear).
Body: Original steel body, fenders, N.O.S. grille,and hood expertly finished by Jeff Bennett of Wide Open Customs in Roanoke, VA.Filled roof. Working cowl vent, opening windshield and roll-down rear window.Tinted glass. Original headlamps converted to halogen bulbs. New Bob Drake running boards and bumpers.
Interior: New pleated leather interior with Glideseat, 1940 Ford pickup steering column and very rare original \'50 FordCrestline steering wheel. Rebuilt 1936Ford gauges and radio face plate.Aftermarket Bosch Temperature, Oil Pressure and Voltmeter gaugesinstalled in kick panel. Fully trimmed luggage compartment. Battery cut-offswitch and hidden ignition key, seat belts, turn signals. EZ- Wire harness with fuse panel.
Condition:This is a very nice car in every way. Everyone who performed a task inthe restoration of this car is listed above and they are among the finestcraftsmen in our area.. All are accomplished, and award-winning hot rodbuilders. You have very likely seen their work in national magazines.
This Ford threewindow was built to be a reliable and easily serviced car with a high level offinish. The car is defined as much by the features that make it a true Ford hot rod as it is by the features thatwere purposely excluded from consideration in this build. No Mustang II, nopower windows and no air. No Jim-cracks or faddish junk. If you want a Porsche,buy one.
Minor tasksremain. The speedometer , though professionally restored has not been hookedup. The new Drake Mirrors are in the trunk because the car looks so coolwithout them.
