This pre-war Mercury is a rotisserie modernized Street Rod professionally built on a rust free original body and frame. During restoration, a built 302 Mustang engine was installed with 300HP, mated with a C-4 transmission. The automatic Lokar shifter is on the floor driving a 9" Ford Rear end. This car has a Mustang II front end with 11" rotor Disc brakes, and rear drum brakes. Wide white wall radials are mounted on big and small steel wheels to accommodate original trim rings and center caps to set off this original style 2 door coupe. The interior sports dual power green leather buckets and rear bench with black insert panels. Door panels mirror the seats with black inserts on green. Care was taken to preserve the Art Deco originality of the dash finish and instruments.The old school Flaming River tilt steering wheel has a Winged Mercury horn button. Also added at restoration are: AM/FM/CD with power antenna, Vintage Air, front seatbelts, and tinted glass all around. The most impressive part to this car is the superb paint job in black with a green/blue metal flake. The pictures do not do it justice as there are no marks, scratches, or issues with this unique example of a rare model Mercury. You can always see a '40 Ford at shows, but when's the last time you saw a '40 Merc? A deposit of $1000 is due within 48 hours at the end of the auction, and the balance is due within 1 week of initial deposit by either Cashiers Check or cash in person. Buyer should inspect the vehicle prior to auction close and said buyer is responsible for pickup and shipping.
