I originally bought this Hudson that was instorage, (a barn find if you will) for the better part of 30 years. I had an enormous amount of work done to itto try and make it a safe and reliable car.
The fuel system is rebuilt from the gas tank which was removed, sandblasted, repaired, special rubber coating, sending unit is brand new so thegas guage on the dash board is accurate, all the way through to the rebuiltcarburetor.
The braking system is brand new, shoes, drums, lines, cylinders, including every peice of hardware that makesup the braking system. This Hudson hasin the front only, brand new wiring.
Headlights, turn signals, battery wiring, ignition wiring, all wiring from the push button start to the startermotor. The wiring in the back is perfectlyfine. Every single light bulb from the license plate light bulb to the hoodcrest on the front of the hood in the car has been replaced with the correct 6volt bulbs. The battery is brand new and is an 8 volt battery.
I did not change over to a 12 volt system asI absolutely wanted the car to be a original as could be and the car runsperfectly on the 6 volt system. The tires are steel belted radials and are thecorrect size for the car and has 100 miles on them.
The spare tire is brandnew. The vacuum fuel pump is brand new and works perfectly. The clutch and allrelated parts have been replaced and is all brand new.
The two things that Icurrently see wrong with the car is right now it will not start, although thecranking is strong and fast.
The car hasbrand new caps, points, rotors, plugs, wires, fuel pump and there is a littleover 1/4 tank of gas, I can\'t see the no start condition being very serious atall. The second problem is when the clutch gets overheated, the transmision willnot go into any gear whatsoever until the clutch has cooled sufficiently. Oncethe clutch cools, it will shift just fine once again.
The mechanic says it\'s a simple clutchadjustment being it is new.I have reached the end of the line financially forme for this car, and I am seriously hoping that it will go to a caring newowner that will keep the car as original as can be. I suppose we all have todraw the line somewhere .
The next owner of the Commodore will not have to domuch more work at all as much of the hard stuff has been done already. Asmentioned above It has a no start condition and a clutch that gets too hot .
Noreasonable offer will be turned down, but if at all possible the best thing todo is to come and see the car in person to appreciate all that is done. The caris in really fine condition, it has been repainted so I was told in the 1970sand has held up miraculously well. Thecar is a solid car and very good bones. Floor pans are in very good condition,as with the trunk pits.
I have more pictures if anyone needs but am limited tothe 12 provided by ebayThe car will be listed locally so I can and will removethe car from ebay if someone comes along with the right price. A reserve has been set to protect the value ofthe car.
This car will be sold as is withno warranties, or guarantees expressed or implied. Look carefully at the pictures.I require a $500.00 deposit within 3 days of winning bid
good luck
