Description The 1956 Oldsmobile 98 Starfire convertible has always been a trendsetter. The Rocket V8 engine launched a power revolution that we\'re still enjoying today. Oldsmobile was delivering big performance with a healthy dose of luxury to match, creating a unique niche in the GM hierarchy. So this highly correct and nicely restored example of a rare droptop is a terrific way to standout upon arrival everywhere.
The 98-series was the top-dog with the longer wheelbase, and the Starfire convertible was the most expensive of all the Oldsmobiles that year. So production was only about 8,500 examples – and how many do you think survived over 60 years to look this good? The 1956-correct Antique White and Rose Mist instantly conveys the elegance that you want from an Oldsmobile. This is a very intricate two-tone layout, so we are happy to see someone properly invest in a high quality respray that took the time to get it right. The result is the kind of gloss and shine that makes you fondly remember the \'50s. All the sheetmetal appears correct – right down to the hint of kick-up in the rear fender to create the tailfin. All the brightwork is complete, so you get the big chrome bumpers, intricate trim, and jet-inspired hood ornament. Even the details are great, like the globe hood insignia and fender skirts. And it\'s all finished off with whitewall tires and factory covers over color-matched steelies that make the total wheel package look absolutely artful.
The power convertible top goes down so that you\'re open to the world. So it\'s quite nice to see that the wow factor continues on the inside. The colors coordinate nicely with the exterior. Plus, it looks like there have been investments in places like the seats, door panels, and carpeting to keep everything feeling fresh. There are cool features still on display like the AM radio and power window controls. The seat even still power adjusts to get you in an ideal position. The Olds globe steering wheel is thin and has that kind of instant sense of grip that we seemed to have lost over the years. As you gaze over all that\'s in front of you, the bright elements on the wheel, speedometer, heater controls, and so much more just seems to remind you of the style priority of the \'50s.
Oldsmobile\'s famous Rocket V8 lives under the hood. This era-correct 324 cubic-inch motor look like they spent plenty making it appear like a time capsule, and we know you love how the freshly painted valve covers announce the motor. And while the setup is tidy and ready to show off, this Olds has also been maintained to be a cruiser, too. This has a correct four-barrel carburetor, and the dual exhaust is both authoritative and dignified. The V8 has a broad torque curve that\'s well-matched with the four-speed Jetaway automatic transmission. Plus, with power steering and Oldsmobile\'s cushy ride, this one easily floats down the road.

Buyers are welcomed to trailer vehicles home and we are happy to have everything ready to see you off with your new vehicle.
Drive it Home: If you plan to buy and drive home, please keep some things in mind. Anything is possible when it comes to a vehicle, especially a classic or antique one. We recommend transporting all vehicles to your home first, then driving it locally. Get to know the vehicle and its tendencies before embarking on a long-distance trip. If you choose to drive your new vehicle home, buyer accepts all responsibility as we are unable to control what may take place once it leaves our facility.
Documents & Vehicle Titles: All purchase documents are sent immediately upon purchase. To avoid delays, we recommend returning any required documents within 24 hours of receipt.Please allow up to 30 days for vehicle titles. Usually titles are available sooner, we ask for the extra time in the event there are unforeseen circumstances.
