Carefully refined over the decades, by 1960 theImperial offered not only exclusivity and grand style but also strongperformance with its powerful 413 cubic inch engine, and excellent handlingthanks to its torsion-bar suspension. Much more than “upscale Chryslers”, the1960 Imperial line shared only its strong powertrain with other Chryslerproducts, and ever since 1955, the Imperial was considered a separate marqueall its own.

We have received the following comments fromvarious based auction companies:
First off that is a gorgeous example of a classicChrysler, I’m a big fan as I’ve owned several of them (although I’m currentlyselling the last of my collection, a 1957 300C). I’ve included a few links tosimilar cars we’ve sold in previous auctions to give you an idea on what theybring with us
1960 CHRYSLER IMPERIAL CONVERTIBLE Las Vegas 2015$71,500
1958 CHRYSLER IMPERIAL CONVERTIBLE Scottsdale 2015$77,000
1960 CHRYSLER IMPERIAL CONVERTIBLE Scottsdale 2015$110,000
1957 CHRYSLER IMPERIAL CROWN CONVERTIVLE Las Vegas2011 $60,500
As the gentlemen from Bohnams and Auctions Americamention below, these cars average between $70,000-$90,00 USD. In my opinion, our Palm Beach auction would be a great fit for this car since it is aconvertible and classic American luxury cars (Cadillac, Lincoln, Chrysler) tendto do well there. Although it is ultimately your choice which auction you bringthe car to. If you’d like to explore the consignment process further, let meknow and we can figure out the best strategy going forward

Dear Mr. Hellerud,
Thank you for contacting Bonhams and speaking withme today about your Chrysler. Per our conversation, We have a few venues atwhich we may be able to include your Imperial—namely our Scottsdale Auction onJanuary 28th in Scottsdale, Arizona, our Grand Palais Auction on January 4thinParis, France, and our Amelia Island Auction on March 10th in Fernandina Beach,Florida.
We would estimate the car at $70,000-90,000(€65,000-75,000) and being that all three of these auctions are some of ourmore premier venues, we’d be obliged to offer the car without reserve. Ourstandard costs are two fold, a pre-sale entry fee to be paid prior to theauction of $1500 (€1250) and a seller’s commission of 10% of the final bidprice upon successful sale. Given that the car would be offered withoutreserve, I would be pleased to reduce our entry fee to $1000 (€900) and theseller’s commission to 8%.
Please let me know your thoughts.
I look forward to speaking with you furtherregarding this consignment.
Very best regards,
