Absolutely Stunning and Restored 1960Stude Hawk

I have been having this beauty restored for the past twoyears and chose to do so as a strong number 2 car, not looking for show qualityas I had to keep in mind this was not a Mercedes Gull Wing or a 63 Vette splitwindow but a Studebaker. JNevertheless I spared no dollars in making sure that all was done correctly sothat the car became both a HEAD TURNER and EXTREMELY DEPENDABLE RIDE.

I changed certain things to bring the car up to date such asadding power steering, all original, dual master brake cylinder with refillunder the hood vs. under the car. Most of all, I wanted the car to be drivablein the summertime and not suffer from “vapor lock” when the gas lines overheatcausing the problem as stated “ya can’t run on vapors”. I had installed a highend racing fuel system with controlled pressure that reroutes and cools any gasback into the tank which was not just updated but rebuilt. The gas is movedalong by a quality electric gas pump. Iswitched out the old generator for a modern alternator with a gauge for itunder the dash.

Inside the car, there is a pair of new modern high endspeakers that in fact fit the old holes and are way superior to the“replacement junk” sold. The radio itself is a modern radio with an old façadealong with a CD/MP3 player in the glove box. (A suitable disk of doo wop oldieson CD with a couple of hundred MP3 tunes comes with carJ ). Also inside the wind laceand kick panels have been replaced as well as a full set of carpeted mats inblack come with the car (not shown). Thesteering wheel has been replaced for both look and ingress and egress withoutleaving your bollocks behind. JI have kept both the old steering wheel and working radio and both will comewith car.

The outside look of the car is not to stock by choice. Thelook was done to surpass the original beauty of the styling by first andforemost adding the very, very valuable continental kit from a 1958 PackardHawk of which only 588 of them were sold at the time. Very few are left of themtoday. Additionally while the original Hawk only had color on the outside ofthe fins, I added color to the inside. I also used the same burgundy color tothe center of the hood and the top which just makes the car look “killer kool.”The front bezels with inserts have been re-chromed and all of the script, medals, and mirrors are new.

Rather than prattle on, I am adding a list of all work doneand I do possess all of the billing for same.

I have not rebuilt the engine as the pressure is perfect andruns at 40 plus #’s regularly. The transmission was rebuilt a few years ago bythe prior owner and works great. The car has the usual small leaks that mostdue from that generation of cars. There is a small leak in the front of transand rear of engine. I had to leave yousome work to complete. JAll around engine is new.

HERE IS THE COMPLETE LIST OF NEW PARTS AND WORK DONE ON THE CAR SINCE I HAD RESTORED OVER A 2 YEAR PERIOD

all replacement parts mostly old new stock with a few as newly manufactured.

no junk yard parts used.
