The Biscayne\'swere chosen by knowledgeable racers as the lightest, and thus quickest, carswith the biggest available engines in “stock” form. Stripped of even cigarettelighters, and stuffed with highly tuned tri-power 348 C.I. engines, these lowlyBiscayne\'s became terrors of the drag strip.
This car startedlife as the barest, cheapest full sizeChevrolet you could buy. It was likely driven to death by a Bell Telephonerepair man or a Public Works director. Perhaps even a small town parson. With athrifty six and a three on the tree, this car was a reliable if boring way towork every day.
