Up for sale is my 1964 Cadillac Deville Convertible. It has the 429 ci motor with turbo hydra-matic transmission.
I just bought the car but decided I cannot keep it due to too many other projects and not enough space to store them.
The car is originally from Iowa and still here. It was owned by the last owner since 1977, always garage stored. This car is not rotted out, it does have "mud" on the passenger side because he hit something. (He also hit something in his other Cadillac in the same spot so I suspect a trend)
The motor starts and runs off ether but doesn't run consistently. Fuel bowl fills up and swirls so that's good. It has been sitting for two plus years. The front passenger wheel is stuck, its not the bearing though, just the brake pads. I tied to free it but was unable to yet. There are some new parts: points, waterpump, plugs and wires, coil, installed and a few more in the glove box and trunk. Carburetor most likely just needs rebuilt.
The top is an aftermarket lightweight liftoff fiberglass top with two sunroofs. The cloth top is folded down and it appears cracked, brittle and falling apart. I can't get the windows to roll up and down, no idea what's wrong.
The seats are still the real leather and could be fixed instead of being replaced.
Carpet needs replaced, tires are good but I wouldn't drive it across the country on them.
It is listed for sale locally so this listing can be removed at any time.
The car must be towed away. $1000 deposit within 48 hrs of completion and the rest paid in full before pickup. Must be picked up within 7 days.
I have more photos and will take more upon request.

I did get the motor running. I soaked the carb to clear up some of the gunk and it fired right up and stayed running. It does have an exhaust leak, hence the exhaust gasket in the trunk, but that is easily fixed. The front passenger side wheel is still not rolling. I was going to take it all apart but didn't want to break anything before the auction ended. If it doesn't reach reserve I will be fixing that completely then relist/ list it on FB groups for sale.It is for sale outside of this auction so the auction can be stopped at any time.

I have learned quite a bit recently about this car. It was originally in Ohio for a few years and brought to Iowa in the 70s, sold in Des Moines around 79/80 and bought by the last owner in 81 in Ottumwa. It has been his ever since. The liftoff hardtop is a very rare item for this timeframe, there were two companies that made them it seems and one company was in Minneapolis. The sunroofs were definitely not put in at the factory of that company. People have messaged me separately hoping to buy the top, I have declined and said it will go with the car. I also have photos of the car from back in 79/80 from the owner who sold it in Des Moines now. It had the hardtop on it then but no sunroofs. I will share those with the new owner.
