Up forauction is our beautiful all original 64 Galaxie 500. This car was sold new in Kansas City, atMidway Ford and was only in service for several years before it was parkedinside the original owners garage, where it sat for many years.
When thistime capsule was discovered the odometer reading was only21,000 miles. The car was brought toColorado where it underwent a full mechanical check; the engine was flushedwith all new fluids and filters, resealed, all new ignition tune-up items, thecarburetor was gone through, all new hoses and clamps, radiator was boiled outand filled with new coolant, new fuel pump and water pump. The fuel system was completely flushed andall rubber lines replaced. The brakesystem was also completely flushed and a new master cylinder was installed. New battery and cables were installed, butall of the original hoses, belts and master cylinder were saved and areincluded with the car. After all of thiswas completed and many dollars were spent it was BACK ON THE ROAD! I will say this car runs and drives likean absolute dream. The engine is tightand super smooth with no smoke or odd noises.The three speed transmission is also quiet and smooth shifting alongwith the clutch. The brakes work perfectlyas expected. As you drive the car it has a very solid andquiet feel. Going over rail road tracksits SOLID with absolutely no rattles. Wehave put 500 miles on the car and its very reliable and fun!
The exteriorof this car is stunning. Much of the paint is original and in super condition, with the exception of one small dent on the right side lower rocker panel. The brightwork is alloriginal and super nice. All of the glass is original and is pit free and nearly flawless.Inside the trunk is all original and perfect (not a single rustspot). The spare is a very old bias plywhitewall tire with all of the original jack hardware. Included with the car is also a pair oforiginal fender skirts. The wheels arealso all original and have nice bias ply white wall tires with amazing conditionwire hubcaps.
The interiorof this car is amazing. The seats, doorpanels and headliner are original and look perfect. The carpet is also all original andsuper nice. It has always had rubberfloor mats that have kept the carpet like new.The dash in this car is beautiful, all ofthe gauges are crisp and clean, the controls and switches are all working andfeel like new. Everything on and insidethis car works perfect; lights, horn, wipers, turn signals, hi-low beam,speedo, gauge function, etc etc…
Inside theglove compartment is all of its original owners manuals, warranty booklet, someold service pamphlets, original keys. This car is an amazing time capsule. When sitting in the car and the AM radiocomes on with some oldies and you pull away, it feels like your living in 64’all over again.
Theundercarriage is clean and rust free.The frame and suspension have many of its original paint marking and thefloors are still red oxide with only the factory undercoating.
