·California Rust Free Car, I purchasedfrom a Movie Studio in 2002 where it was used as a background car.

·76,000 Original Miles. I put about25,000 miles on it in 16 years. The car rides and drives smooth and straight, and the 425 has more than enough power to climb mountains, accelerate, andcruise smoothly.

·Top is in great condition, and goes upand down effortlessly. No rips. Absolutely no damage to the top, and back glassis perfect.

·425 Engine

· Completely rebuilt front end: All newBall Joints, Idler Arm, Upper/Lower Bushings.

·Tires and alignment good

·Brakes good

·New rear wheel bearings

·New front wheel bearings

·All power windows work

·Wipers Work

·Original AM radio works as good as itcan

·Power Seats are bit quirky, but honestly, you set them once and leave them there for 10 years :-)

·Tilt Wheel/Telescopic wheel works

· Ignition upgraded to Pertronix Electronic Pick-Up

Here\'s the punch list of things that would make it better, some of which I\'m working through, and some I\'ll save for you :-)

Carpet is original and needs replacing
Interior is original, and has faded from the California sun. It\'s original 1966 interior, so the front seat does have a few tears, and the door panels have worn spots. When you\'re cruising along and people are honking, smiling, and giving a thumbs up you nor they will care about the worn interior.

The same is true for the paint. The original color was white, and somewhere in it\'s lifetime prior to me it was painted a metalic blue and then the baby blue it\'s in now which suits it just fine. Some idiot before I bought it tried to pop out the drivers door lock to break into it. (It\'s a convertible, duh). I\'m finally doing the body work on that and touching up a few other places. Sure it could use a repaint and some dings fixed, but again, when you\'re cruising along, you or nobody else will care.

Small piece in the column that works the cable for the turn signal is broken People honk, wave and talk to me all the time when I\'m out in it.
Horn mechanism in the column randomly blows the horn, so is currently disconnected.

A/C was working, but has leaked down, which these things did on their best day. These things took 8 Lbs of R-12 which is crazy. An aftermarket R-134 system would be the way to go, or replace the hoses and O-Rings and charge it with R-134. Keeping these cars original doesn\'t really matter anymore. I should know; I ran a restoration shop. Who cares how the cold air comes out of the vents. You just want cold air, but it\'s a convertible, A/C doesn\'t really even matter.

Glove box lock/latch is broken.

Other than rebuilding the front end, replacing wheel bearings, adjusting the brakes every few years, replacing the carburetor (66 Q-Jets sucked), and updating the ignition to Pertronix Electronic, all I do is drive and enjoy it.

Car has been up and down the Blue Ridge Parkway numerous times to see the Fall Foliage, and we traveled all the way to Connecticut in it and back from Atlanta. We had planned to travel all of Route 66 in it, but sadly my wife has passed away, and I am now downsizing.
