For sale is my 1968 AMX. I\'m selling it to get other cars done. I\'ve owned it now for over 4 years. I bought it from a friend who owned it for over 6 years and the local owner before that had it for several years. It was painted 2 owners ago about 12 to 13 years ago. Paint has held up very well. The 2 owners before me never drove the car much. I drive it almost every day in the summer until it gets stored in the late fall. It gets stored in a heated showroom that stores other classic vehicles for the winter. Just recentlythe hood got some light damage from another car backing into it. I have photos of the front of the hood for you to look at. There is some paint chipping on the cowl vent panel as well from the back of the hood rubbing against it when you open it. Because of this I have set my reserve at a reasonably low price. The 390 engine has a bigger cam in it, an Offenhauser 360 Degreeintake manifold with a Holley 750 vacuum secondary 4 bbl carb. I believe these were put on in the early 70\'s. The Goodyear tires have been on the car since the eighties and still look new with like new tread depth. The car looks to have never had any rust on it. I met the owner my friend bought it from and he said he originally bought it on ebay from Missouri. It has PS, PB, tilt wheel, new window crank handles, andnew roof/door openingweather strips. I replaced theplastic headliner with a fabric head liner made at the local upholstery shop. Original head liner goes with car. They also put new seat foam in the buckets to restore factory feel and seat height. The seats were restored with seat covers from Legendary Interiors. I also replaced the leaf springs with new units from Detroit Eaton Springs-USA made. I have anew gas tank sending unit but have not installed it yet. Comes with the car. I also have a factory steering wheel I bought on ebay that needs restoring that goes with car as well. It has a new radiator and water pump installed. Has dual exhaust and factory posi rear end. There are 3 Stewart Warner gauges in the center of the dash that look like theywere installed in the late 60\'s or early 70\'s. Engine idles with 40 psi oil pressure and reads 58 psi when driving. Water temp stays at 180 degrees when driving. Runs good, shifts good. Feels like a shift kit was installed in the transmission as well. Tag on the valve cover states that this is the correct engine for this AMX. Very nice restored daily driven classic muscle car. Car is located in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Email this ad with any questions. Shipping is the responsibility of the winning bidder. Thank you.

Wanted to add this. Ebay member jb32014 noted that he had a 68 AMX after Vietnam and his had a small tach to the left of the speedometer and mine is large and on the right. He was wondering if mine is a late 68 or early 69? Good question. The title and vin state 68 but I\'m not sure what month. I meant to post his question but hit the wrong button! In response to a question from another ebay member I have listed all the numbers on the car in the question and answer section below. Hope one of the numbers tells what month it was built.

Ebay member watchdog4780 pointed out that the instrument cluster with the larger tach and the bucket seats are actually from a 1970 AMX. I\'m glad he made me aware of this so I can pass this along to anyone interested in buying the car. I have had a couple of questions on the tach and seats. I appreciate any knowledge passed along to me so I can represent the car as honestly as possible. I tried to post his original question but hit reply without hitting the post to ad button.
