Rare 1968 AMC AMX
This is one special AMX for several reasons. It is probably one of the most Rust Free Original cars in the Country. This X-Code car was believed to be custom ordered in the rare color, Calcutta Russett with an Automatic transmission, A/C and a Twin Grip Rear end. The \"Go Package\" was NOT selected for some reason. Possibly the guy ordered the car for his wife with the Engine he wanted.
It is a numbers matching car with it\'s \"Born with\" 390 Engine, Transmission and Rear End. The Engine has been rebuilt with flat top pistons and a Comp Cams Thumper Cam, the Transmission has been also rebuilt and the Stall Converter was increased to 2400.
The Front end has also been rebuilt, as well as the brake system (Stops Great for Drum Brakes), The Exhaust System is new, so are the Fuel Tank and Sender as are the Wheels and Tires.
The Paint is New and looks Amazing in the Sun. The unique Brownish, Maroon color with Gold Metal Flake sets this AMX apart. The interior looks great for it\'s age.
The A/C is currently not hooked up. The Compressor is good, most all the parts are there except some of the duct work. I would suggest a Vintage air conversion. The Wipers do not work because of the new fuel pump. Originally the wipers worked off of a special Fuel Pump.
The car is a big head turner and is always a hit at Car Shows. Also a Great Investment, these cars are quickly going up in both value and demand.
