1969 CAMARO RS SS Z11 PACE CAR * NUMBERSMATCHING, PROTECTO PLATE AND WINDOW STICKER

*NO RESERVE* Runs on 87 Octane with no issues PLUS ONE SET OF ORIGINAL KEYSIf you’re content having aFake SS or Fake Z28 or a Non-Numbers Matching Camaro then this car is probablynot for you. This RS SS Numbers Matching Z11 Convertible Pace Car is a RealCollectible! Being one of 3,675 Pace Cars of the 243,085 Camaros built in 1969(.015 %) adds to its collectability. The glove box, personally autographed with a durable paint marker by 1969 INDY 500 Winner Mario Andretti, increases the value even more! There are other Pace Cars outthere for less money, but they are flawed with inferior paint, replacementaftermarket sheet metal, replacement aftermarket parts, repositioned, questionable trim tags, improperly stamped, decked engine stamppads, and most important, they are not numbers matching cars NOR DO THEY HAVETHE DOCUMENTED HISTORY THIS Pace Car has. It’s all in the details. You get whatyou pay for! Compared to the following NADA link, our asking price isconsiderably less than book value, especially considering this car is numbersmatching, has a rebuilt transmission and four year old paint, four year old top and interior that still looks new. current NADA valuation isAverage Retail at $43,900 and a High Retail of $84,200. Given the condition ofour car I\'d say our asking price is undervalued, but I\'m not looking to makemoney, I just want to cash out with what I paid for the car and move on. Here is a video walk around of the car: Provenance on this 1969RS SS Z11 convertible Pace Car includes its Protect-O-Plate & Booklet, WindowSticker, original owner\'s manual, a seven page letter from the Third Ownerdiscussing the car and conversations with the First Owner, writtencorrespondence and contact information with the Fourth Owner & FifthOwners (me), and contact information of the Painter who painted it in June 2013. Thereis approximately a third of a gallon of touch up paint left over. This 1969 Camaro RS/SS Z11numbers matching, 350 cu in, 300 hp V8, TH350 Turbo Hydra-Matic 3-speedautomatic transmission is a five owner car with traceable history. The car hasthe original, proper date stamped YJ 14 X 7\" Rally Rims, original DerbyCaps (#392-5805) and trim rings. The BF Goodrich radial TAs have the majorityof the tread remaining (7/32 verses new 10/32 so it’s better than half at 5/32)with a spare tire and original jack equipment in the trunk. To my knowledge thecar is factory original including all signal lights, tail lights, glass (exceptthe windshield and rear window replacement), fenders, quarters and all sheetmetal. NOTE: I used a cheap rubber magnet (stronger magnet goes through Bondo)to search for Bondo and found a small amount on bottom of both quarters, butnot much. The body lines are straight and clean as is the paint. The Houndstooth interior isvery clean, free of odors, rips, stains and any signs of fading. It is alwayscovered with an awning during car shows to protect against birds and sunfading. The convertible top is powered and works quickly as designed andincludes a tonneau cover as photographed. The top is four years old and is clean, tight, and free of tears. Because the car is garage kept, the plastic window isclear with no yellowing, creasing or signs of age. The paint is four years oldthis June. That is confirmed with the June 2013 date on the can of left overpaint. The painter told me that he laid three coats of base coat and four coatsof clear. In one of the photos you can see the image of a man standing nearby, reflective of the quality of the paint job and the chrome. Extra/leftover/touchuppaint is included. The hugger orange stripes are painted. You cannot feel thestripes. They are not decal or vinyl. With the exception of theclock, amp gauge and cowl induction solenoid, all of the gauges and lights workas they should, both inside and out. Hideaway headlights respond quickly andare in good working order. The original radio has been upgraded, but is in abox and is included with the sale. I do not know whether it works. The cardrives like a dream and handles well. It is both comfortable and enjoyable todrive! Aftermarket AC was installed in 2005, recently serviced and blows niceand cold. When I purchased the car it did not have the door decals so they arenew and rich in color. Photos of the car without decals are included as is adisc of car show photos and its competition. This 1969 Camaro (VIN124679N619665) has the original Numbers matching engine (9N619665) stampedT0304HB engine built at the Tonawanda Plant on 4 March. The HB suffixrepresents a 350/300 HP Turbo Hydra-Matic 4bbc car. The Y9C08 transmission wasbuilt in Toledo 1969, March 08. The original 12 bolt rear end (3.07 gears) isstamped BL0314G and was built March 14 at Detroit Gear and Axle. THE ENGINESTAMP PAD HAS NOT BEEN DECKED OR RESTAMPED. IT HAS NOT BEEN MESSED WITH AND HASTHE FACTORY MILL MARKS TO VERIFY SUCH. (See photo)The car comes with a windowsticker, an original owner’s manual and the highly desired Protecto Plate andBooklet. Currently the car has a 1973 Quadrajet carburetor on it. The originalQuadrajet, marked 7029202 DH 0589, is in a box, and is included in the sale. The 7029202 is for 1969 Chevrolet automatic. The DH represents the correct350/300 horsepower and the 0589 means it was built 27 February 1969, precedingthe March build date of the car as should be. The trim tag has the originalgoop in the holes where it was attached to the firewall, and has never beenrelocated or messed with. (See photo) More importantly, the gang stamped VINnumber and engine suffix on the block is the original, proper font and size andmatches three other visible VIN number locations. The Original Owner was J.E.Matthews of Greenbrier, Arkansas. She purchased the vehicle from SuperiorChevrolet in Conway Arkansas and took delivery of it on 8-8-1969. The Pace Carwas purchased by the Second Owner who put in a large cam then didn’t like thatit couldn’t maintain compression to open the lights at idle and traded it for a1967 Corvette. Norman the third owner bought the car from Mecum for $12,500.My wife and I are the FifthOwners. While I did not meet the Second or Original Owner, I am in contact withNorman, the Third Owner, who was very nice to send me a seven page lettertelling me about the car and conversations with the Original Owner. She waseighty at the time, now deceased. He asked her if she wanted to see what thecar looked like after all the years and she said NO that she would getdepressed, that she wished she’d never traded the car in on a new 1988 Mustangas she didn’t like it at all. Norman bought the car in 1989, with 60,000 miles onit. The Original Owner said those were mostly highway miles driven betweenArkansas and Illinois several times to see her sister, otherwise she didn’tdrive it much.

Norman and his son had thecar until he sold it in 2000 for $23,000 to Paul of Shawnee, Oklahoma, theFourth Owner. Paul had the cam removed shortly after he purchased the carbecause he tired of the radical cam the second owner put in it. Paul estimatedthe car had approximately 4,000 miles on the engine since the cam was removed.I bought the car with 68,600 so that would put the cam removal at approximately64,600. I have driven it over 2,000 miles as of this writing the mileage is70,852.7. Conversations with previous owners, trackable mileage one owner toanother validate this to be original, actual mileage. The engine does not, smoke(see video) nor does it drip oil. The seals on the automatic transmission werereplaced last summer. Here is the Official Summary.Other than routine maintenance, the Original Owner did nothing to the car. Tothis day it has never been in an accident. The Second Owner added a radical, loping cam, Shift Kit and powder coated the exhaust manifolds Silver in 1988. Pauladded an aftermarket air conditioner before the 2005 Power Tour as a conditionfor his wife to join him. Most of the changes Paul made occurred after thePower Tour which included new dash cover, carpet, front and rear seat covers, side panels, bushings, ball joints, idler arm, brake booster, master cylinder, stainless steel brake lines, and Flow Master exhaust. He didn’t keep anyreceipts but guessed the upgrades were done in 2007. Paul said that he had noreceipts whatsoever so if he did, he wouldn’t give them up. In April of 2016, Ihad all of the transmission seals replaced. I do have that receipt. TheMechanic who replaced the seals verified it had a Transgo shift kit and thatall clutches were in excellent condition. The transmission shifts as you wouldexpect. There were 133 Pace Cars atIndy on race day. Two actual Pace Cars, 1 given to winner Mario Andretti, 5given to USAC members, 7 given to Speedway Officials, 75 used for VIP and Pres, and 43 Festival Cars. Our faux FestivalCar (Number 29) comes with 1969 Indiana Pace Car plates (expiration date5/31/69) and an Indy 500 Race Day Parking Pass. One week prior to the 2016running of the Indy 500, a Pace Car Reunion was held in the Indy Hall of FameMuseum parking lot. The highlight of that weekend was being allowed to driveour Pace Cars one lap around the Brickyard. The sale includes photos and avideo of that event and lap. My personal highlight was meeting Mario Andrettiand having several photos taken with him. I took the glove box door off thehinges and Mario Andretti personally autographed it. Of the 3,675 Pace Carreplicas built in 69 only a handful of them were ever signed by Mario so thiscar is rare on top of being rare. The only race Mario ever won was 1969.

My wife and I are retired. Both our daughter and son have graduated from college. Our son is buying ourhouse, I have already sold our 2011 Pace Car and we are now selling the 1969Pace Car, and hitting the road. I’m not looking to make any money the car, justto cash out. Finding an all original, numbers matching, bonafide, doesn’t needanything Pace Car is rare. We enjoyed the car and as you can see from thephoto, it did quite well at car shows last year. TROPHIES ARE INCLUDED IN THE SALE AS IS THE ORANGE AWNING TO PROTECT THE INTERIOR. There are other Pace Carsavailable, but they don’t have the original drive line, protecto plate, historyof the car nor are they in the condition of this one. This car has a lot goingfor it. Anytime I have shown the car it has been under an awning. I alwayscover the seats with orange towels when the car is driven or in public so thesun never has a chance to fade the interior. (Towels included) It has alwaysbeen garaged and well cared for!The sale comes with alldocumentation, letters, photos, every bit of available history anddocumentation, and digital folders with car shows photos and its competition in2016. Anything and everything I have goes with the car including the YellowPace Car Flags. The sale includes the original Factory Protecto Plate denotingthe components the car has from the factory tying everything as the numbersmatching vehicle it is. Thanks for your Interest.
