1969 Mercury Cougar XR 7 Convertible
Vehicle Overview:
I have owned the car for the last 4years. This car has just come off a full frame-on restoration, with 100 miles loggedsince completion.The car is an original California car and retains allits original sheet metal. It contains no rust.It has a 351W-4V enginemated to a 3-speedautomatic transmission. Car comes equipped with powersteering, power brakes, rim-blow steering wheel, remote control left-handmirror, AC, power top,60-series BF Goodrich tires mounted on 15\"Magnum wheels. All suspension parts, front-end brake lines and master brakecylinderhave been replaced. New anti-sway bars were added to both frontand rear end. Differential was rebuilt. The power steeringsystem wasrebuilt. The AC system has been rebuilt. All under-hood and undercarriagepartswere powder-coated prior to reinstalling. The radiatorhas beenreconditionedand an electronic fan added for better cooling. All beltsand hoses have been replaced.The engine was rebuilt and a competitioncrankshaft, exhaust manifold, electronic ignitionandcarburetoradded.The hood scoop is functional with outside airfunneling directly to theair cleaner assembly. The enginewasrepainted Ford blue. The exhaustsystem was completely replaced with new headers, dual exhaust and chrome tips.Vacuum controlled headlights have been replaced with electric motors forreliability. Rear sequential lights were rebuilt. All bright-work was eitherreplaced or re-chromed. The transmission was rebuilt and a shifter kitinstalled. A new sound system was added, including AM/FM radio, 5 speakers anda 6 CD changer mounted in the trunk. Seats and door panels were completelyreupholstered in the original factory pattern and color of white. Centerconsole was reconditioned/rebuilt. The dash was reconditioned. Steering wheelwas reconditioned and rim-blow steering wheel made functional again. All seat belts were replaced. Carpet was not replaced during recent restoration, as its condition was excellent. The paintwas taken down to bare metal, the entire car stripped of all parts, bodycomponents alignedand then resprayed ina blue metallic. Allweather-stripping replaced. All striping waspainted on sealedunderthe clear coat for a mirror-like look and feel ($15K investedinpaint).The undercarriage was completely stripped and repainted,including all four wheel-wells. The engine bay was also completely stripped ofall parts and repainted. Power top mechanisms have been rebuilt. Convertibletop, rear glass and boot replaced. New side window glass all around. Powerwindows are operable. Gauges work with the exception of the low-fuel reminderlight. Tires are new as well as the Magnum wheels. Trunk mat, spare tire cover,along with spare tire and wheel have been replaced.Comes withcustom-fitcar cover, DeluxeMarti Report, window sticker,owner’smanual and full set of service books.Car comes with full and clear title.Over $65K invested in restoration to date.
While the car has been fullyrestored, it is not without its imperfections. They are as follows.The ACdoes not blow as cold as I think it should. The side glass could stand furtheradjusting to improve sealing - doors require additional effort to close whenall windows are up. The ride is stiff - you feel the road. Steering requiresadditional effort at idle speed. Gauge lighting isdim. There istheoccasional squeak andrattle as the car rolls down the road.Remember, it\'s a 50 year old vehicle.

The buyer is responsible forregistering the vehicle in their home state.
