1969 Cougar XR7 Convertible – Big Block
Limited production exampleof factory muscle.
S-code 390 with mild cam, 4-bbl, Top Loader close ratio4-speed with Hurst shifter,
3.25:1 Trac-loc 9-inch rear, dual exhaust, powersteering, power disc brakes.
Maroon with a black power top and a new black leatherinterior.
Has date code correct 1968 428CJ heads and CJ exhaustmanifolds.
This car does not have the original numbers matchingblock.
Most of you have never heard of a car like this. There are more 1969 convertible 428 Cobra JetCougars out there (209) than this rare beast.
Outof 100,085 1969 cougars produced, only42 were made with this body style, trim level, and drive train. Out of those, how many are actually left 50years later? Not many.
Foryou non-Ford people out there, S-code refers to the fifth digit in theVIN. An “S” in the fifth place indicatesthat it was a factory 390 with a four barrel. Most 390 Cougars are two barrel.
