For consideration is my Real and Very Original 1970 Z28 Rally Sport Camaro. Car comes with its Original Protectoplate Warranty Card, Original Build Sheet (just found under pass. seat and is well preserved as shown in pics) and Original 1970 Window Registration among many other original documents and early pictures. The original LT1 350/360hp engine was professionally rebuilt to factory specs by legendary racer/machinist Ed Hale before car was stored away for 20 years and it runs and sounds like new. Unfortunately he had to replace the original engine block (block only) with a TJY code 1973 350 4 bolt main truck block due to a thrown rod in the original CTC block. Pretty much everything else from the original engine was used in the rebuild except the Carb which is now a 750 Holley. This car runs, drives, shifts, and handles extremely strong and tight. Tires have good tread but are old and should be replaced for safety. Has factory F41 suspension package, power steering and power front disc brakes. All body panels are original to car and very straight and smooth and I believe have never been removed. Body gaps and alignment are perfect. The only body repair that I can find on car is what looks to have been a minor dent repair on the lower left quarter panel behind rear tire. The repaint is over 30 years old so it does have some scratches, touch ups, and fading but still looks pretty good for an older paint job. The hood and trunk stripes are now blue and were originally black. All of the chrome and trim on car is original and without dents or damage but may need polishing or resurfacing to be show quality. All of the glass is clear and without cracks. There is no rust anywhere on the car being an original California car that has not left the state. The interior is in near mint original condition. Even the carpet is original and in excellent condition. The original spare tire and jack are still in the trunk. Everything except the radio and clock works as it should. Radio may just be a fuse but I haven't checked. Even the door buzzer works which is annoying, haha.
The Original Build sheet and Protectoplate shown in the pics show everything that this Z28 rolled out of the factory with and from what I can tell still has except for the original engine block and carb. as previously mentioned. I have verified the following Major Born With Original Mechanical Components to be present: 3972110 Intake, 3927186 Heads, 1112019 Distributor, 1100837 Altenator, 527 & 826 Exhaust Manifolds, CW Turbo 400 Trans., OZ 3:73 Posi 12 bolt. All pulleys also appear to be original.
This is one of the nicest unmolested and well documented early Z28 Camaros to be found.
