1971Ford LTD Country Squire Station Wagon

I searched for the rightstation wagon for several years until finding this one. It needed to be anoriginal, rust free, late 60s – early 70s example, with a roof rack, third rowseating, and a “magic door gate”.

This wagon actually has 47,000original miles. That\'s right, not 147,000 but 47,000! It drives like it aswell.Itfeaturesthe original400 cid. motor with a C6automatic on the column. One ofmy additional and also essentialrequirements was that the wagon have a clear history and service records. Theoriginal owner had this Classic in excess of twenty years. He started takingnotes from the very beginning recording oil changes/alignments/tirerotations...and created a file of the brochures, window sticker, metal data tag, build sheet...His notes show very consistent maintenance which, in addition to thecondition, verify that the miles are correct. The original owners’manual, purchase documents and Ziebart rust proof warranty were in the glove box as you wouldexpect from a very caring, original owner. This Wagon has always been aCalifornia, rust and bondo free example. Mechanically it is perfectand I never hesitate driving it to the beach or wherever. Anything canhappen to an older mechanical device but I know of no reason a motivated buyershould be concerned about driving this car back to California. It is absolutelya survivor. The paint is faded, but the body is straight with perfect gaps. NOrust, no body filler, no door sags, no cracks, dents, dings; all gaps are correctwith perfectly aligned body panels. All exterior trim is intact and as new.Perfect if you are looking for somethingnostalgic, reliable, practicaland eye catchingto cruise in withpatina. My planwastojust leave it the way it is because I enjoy the look and it\'s onlyoriginal once. It would make a great candidate for new paint and wood decalsbut that\'s not what I wanted. It is a great cruiser, that gets looks everywhereit goes. Mechanically it has been completely gone through and anything neededhas been done. I own several cars including National Show Winning muscle carsand this car was serviced the same as my 1970 Hemi Cuda which is tosay...perfectly. It ran good when I purchased it but needed some attention andmaintenance to satisfy me and my desire to have zero potentialissues.During the last year, my shop replaced the water pump, brakeslines (with custom fabricated steel), all front-end components,shocks/suspension, stainless fabricated fuel lines, all tires, analignment, electronic distributer conversion and a completetune up. Abouttwo months ago the transmission modulatorshowed signs of fatigueandwas replaced. The glove box door lock was replaced and keyed with an OEM part. The interior is near perfect with no tears in the seats, sag, burns, rips.... Ihad the front seat reupholstered with the remaining seats original and nearperfect. Power windows, power brakes, power steering andautomatic transmission. No air conditioning. Glass is all chip and scratchfree. She drives as quiet and smooth as my newer Cadillac CTS-V. The vehicle isgreat and I have used it to travel as both a daily driver or just aweekend cruiser. I have gone to car shows and cruise ins with friends thatdrive R8\'s, Lamborghini\'s, classic muscle cars...and my Wagon garners thebiggest crowds. It\'s very funny but people love the memories, especially therear facing seatsthat can double as a table and fold away flat. Roomfor8 or sheets of plywood! It has been great to me and always gets compliments and looks.I have been around old cars my entire life and have owned over a 100 and thisone is very special and unique.
