FOR SALE - A clear title available to a classic collector or road tourjunkiea California born and based muscle car - 1971 Pontiac Lemans Sport - looking for an appreciative PONTIACowner!

This sporty looking car has a reputation being it has beena TVstar known as \"The Unit\" for the Action Sports TV series\"TheXcorps\" based in San Diego.

For more on this vehicle in Action please Google “Xcorps TV Pontiac LeMans” - Sorry no video hot links allowed on EBAYor I would include them here.

This is a California made carwhich I purchased in 1984 in San Diego and have owned ever since! It is a very FUN FAST dependable ride that always gets many thumbsup and smiles everywhere it goes...Unlike most new cars! Owned by the producerof the Action Sports show Stu Edmondson. This is NOT a Trailer Queen but a ROADTOURING vehicle with a lot of cool history! We have driven it on many road toursincluding the complete length of Coast Highway 101…What an adventure in a FUN ride!

Upgrades and changes from Original:

The engine was lifted andcompletely rebuilt to higher performance specs and since then the car was justdriven locally in San Diego to car shows and around town with less than 5000 miles currently (2017) onthe new engine and transmission built by Wilson Machine and Transmasters ofEncinitas.

More details on the enginerebuild project below:

The block was magged andbored .40 over making it a 357. Edelbrock aluminum heads modeled after thePontiac \"Ram Air IV\" design were bolted on. The stock crank wasrefurbished and an Schneider GTO Cam along with new cast pistons, bearings, chain and gears, oil and H2o pump and a set of Comp Cams Magnum Roller Rockersand push rods were added. This really added to the character thump of thePontiac big block engine.

Likes premium gas but will burn regular no problem.

Top end included trading inthe old Rochester Quadrajet carb - which could easily smoke the treads and IS agreat carb - traded up to a new version of the classic Holley 650 mechanical\"Double Pumper\". A new Holley110 gph 8psi mechanical fuel pump was added to keep up with the new fueldemands. Wilson\'s Machine then added anEdelbrock polished aluminum intake manifold. Up top a Tornado air vortex unitwas added to a massive Edelbrock air cleaner. Polished chrome valve covers bythe same great company.

The engine compartment wasdetailed black before the engine was dropped back in. The ignition system wasupgraded with a MSD 6A box and 8.5 Superconductor plug wires all hooked up to anew MSD Pro Billet distributor. External oil cooler added for added engineprotection. Synthetic oil always used.

For exhaust the only headersthat would fit the Edelbrock Ram Air design heads were the Hooker Super Comps, which are nice but are so phat that the old starter had to be replaced by a ProTorque that could pivot out of the way. The headers were followed by acrossover pipe and a pair of Flowmaster mufflers with chrome tips. Custom spoiler added to the tail end.

Suspension was beefed all around withnew heavy duty GTO springs, coil over front shocks and rear adjustable airshocks installed. Adjustable AIR bags were also added to the rear along withJEGS traction bars for better balanced take offs. New U Joints and ball jointsand bushings top and bottom. New steering center link and tie rod ends tightened up the steering! To slow this beast the front drum brakes were replaced with a Stainless SteelBrakes power front disk kit.

On the interior - newheadliner, dash cover, black carpet and heavy-duty race safety seats were added. Thisis an important safety factor that many ignore...pick up on a SOLID pair ofside-bolstered seats for your ride for comfort and safety!

Outside for sexy looks a coat of Valspar double burnt copper bronz paint was added with custom black side stripeand a set of classic Craigar rims and LeMans race rubber pulled it all togetherfor this 71 Pontiac Sport. The Cali sun has taken its toll in places and “TheUnit” could use some new paint and ding repair but no major body dents or rusteven in the bottom of the trunk. Crack on right side of front windshield whichwas epoxy sealed. The Unit does come with a ¼ gallon of the Valspar bronze paint includedfor touch up along new car cover. I know I’m forgetting to include many thingsI replaced on this ride over 35 years but I have worked on just about everypart of this car to keep things smooth running in good working order including regular synthetic oil changes. Less than 5K on the new engine and tranny.

Bottom line – This is a solid car that looks drives and sounds great and is ready to ROLL! The problem you will have is not racing all the carsthat rev you at the red lights!

Located Near DowntownEncinitas north of San Diego.

Thank You and looking forwardto talking to the new owner who hopefully will stay in touch!
