1987 Buick Regal T-Type – Same drive train as the Grand National, but different trim package.
The 2ndowner of this car bought it from original owner in 1993 – it had 66,000 miles on it then. I bought it from the 2ndowner in 1996. I think it had just under 100,000 miles on it at the time. I replaced the gauge cluster at some point and didn’t keep track of the mileage. I’ve probably put on less than 15,000 miles. The current odometer reads 61,000 miles, but it is really around 115,000. The car has spent most of its life in storage as part of a car collection.
The car had some winter driving before I got it. The bottoms of the doors were rusty so I put a pair of southern doors on it and had the car painted the original color - dark red metallic. I think it was done was in 1997 or 1998. The rockers and lower rear quarters were recently repainted to repair a couple of paint blisters. Everything else nice and solid. There is one paint blister on the right rear wheel well and a couple blemishes in the hood. There are also a couple small tears in the upholstery.
Years ago, the transmission started slipping, so I had it rebuilt by General Motors – they put heavy duty clutches in it. I also had the motor freshened up.
Here are some items I put into the car:
Rebuilt Turbocharger
Pillar gauge pod with boost and fuel pressure gauges
ATR 2½” stainless exhaust (steel mufflers)
Electronic knock indicator
Applied Technologies “superpump” & wiring kit
Engine rebuilt (Forged pistons, balanced, comp cams 69-248-4, heads & intake gasket matched & mild port)
ARP head bolts, Felpro 1000 head gaskets
Custom tunable EEPROM
Braided oil cooler
Billet adjustable fuel regulator
Kenwood stereo with 10-disc changer
Larger Injectors
Included is a 1\" thick binder as well as a thumb drive that includes the entire documentation of the vehicle since I have owned it (receipts, manuals, engine work, pictures, etc.)
The car runs and drives great, the AC is cold. Last year I just drove the car to the Goodguys Nationals car show in Ohio in July (730 mile round trip)
