I am the Second Owner of this turn-key, 1987 CadillacBrougham d\'Elegance. I Bought this Brougham last fall, after a yearlong search. America\'s lastV-8 powered rear wheel drive Land Yacht. This D-body car is longer than a Suburban! 221″ L x 77″ W x 57″ H. Wheelbase 121.5in.
The V-8 5 Liter 307.1 cui Engine with a4-speed automatic transmission is very strong and pulls well. 75 mph with ease. Brakes and stopsas it should. White walled Tires have 7-8/32nds. Car runs smoothly at all speeds. No leaks. Nofunny noises. No rips, tears in the leather or carpet. No funny smells. AC is cold. The Caris a Nonsmoker.
Cadillac\'s top-of-the-line d’EleganceBurgundy Pillow top Leather Interior.The back seat offers the accommodations of a limousine. Power accessories include Air Level Ride rear shocks, factoryradio/cassette, dual 6-way power seats, power windows, power remote (add-on)locks/alarm, Power &Heated side mirrors, Sentential 110 volt B pillar lights, cruise control,tilt telescoping wheel, power pull down trunk and electronic climate control. Outfittedwith factory optioned wire wheel covers - dressed in 235/70/15 whitewallradials.
If you know Broughams then you know there are a few known flaws - ONE,the B pillar opera lights never work - these work and look great a night. TWO,the power antenna notoriously fails - but this radio/antenna operates perfectly.THREE the rear air leveling shocks are broken or replaced with standard shocks –these NEW air leveling shocks work as designed. New front shocks as well. Thiscar has a NEW gas tank and sending unit. Newer exhaust from the cat back. Donot hesitate to drive this car home!
This is not a show car, it is not perfect. However, it\'s agreat solid car with a near mint interior and clean underside. No Rot! All New front, side and rear Bumper Fillers.The entirenose and passengersidewas painted this year to repair dents on the right front fender, nose and right rear door. Ihad to paint the new bumper fillersanyway. There are a few chips, scratches, on the remaining paint (see pics/video) butoverall this Brougham is in truly amazing condition. Couple of smallbumpsunder the vinyl top but no rips or tears. Currently registered andinsured in Connecticut through Hagerty. I still drive this car to shows every weekend. The advertised mileage represents the actual miles when thecar was placed on eBay.
The only issues I am aware of are the following: thecassette deck does not work (may be my oldtape) the radio works great, the cruise control is not operational (dashcontrol appears to work), the headliner is bubbling in a few places, the rugshows heal wear in the driver’s side foot well (covered by the floor mat),Trunk liner is stained in a few places andthere is sometimes a puff of smoke on start up overnight (valve guides?). The car uses aquart between oil changes. All otherfluid levels are static. Other than that this is an honest, original car. Ihave the original gold keys with remote lock/security fob, a second set of keys,Service and operator manuals.
My daughter is moving off campus her senior year and “needs” a car sothe Brougham has to go!
