For Sale is my 1997 Dodge Viper GTS. It is the first year of the Generation IIVipers and only around 1400 were produced this year. Compare that to approximately 20,000 Corvettesthat are made each year. They alsobelieve that around 50% of them are no longer on the road making this car veryrare. As a 20 year old limited production, highly desirable car, these have already begun to and are continuing to increase in value.

I have owned this car for approximately a year and it isquite frankly more car than I can handle.I bought this car from an open wheel race car driver who has madeextensive and quality performance modifications to the car.

The car has approximately 78K miles but in the last 500miles the following has been done to the car:

Improvements to theCar:

Exhaust -- The car has a full Magnaflow exhaust includinghigh flow cats, mufflers, 3” tube throughout (upgraded from factory 2.5” specs)as well as polished magnaflow tips.

Brakes -- The Gen 3 break upgrade are the largest and mostpowerful calipers that I am aware of that can be installed on a 1997 Viper andthe appropriate Wilwood brake bias adjuster with pre-bent lines from IPSCO wasalso installed. The calipers on all fourcorners have custom CNC aluminum brackets allowing the installation of the muchmore powerful brake calipers on to the factory hubs which have been used bymany 1996-2002 Viper GTS upgrades. Brandnew stainless steel custom made by ISPCO for the correct application of a 1997Viper GTS with Gen 3 brake upgrade and installed. Entire brake system was then flushed and bled.

Wheels / Tires -- The car has iForged custom built 2piece aluminum wheels 19” in size with tires in very good usablecondition. These were almost $5000.

The head had been freshened up by CFM Performance withporting completed to give the car nearly 30 cfm more flow through theheads.

The cooling system was flushed, new Cometic gaskets(including Cometic head gaskets) were installed and all appear in goodorder. The radiator has been replacedwith a new OEM unit.

Throttle bodies were cleaned as well as electrical connectionscleaned with electrical cleaner. The oil pan was dropped and the crank and bottom end were inspected and appear in good order.

K&N filters replaced the factory paper air filters andsmooth tubes from Viper Specialty replaced the factory units.Engine oil filter appropriate for applicationwas installed as well as nearly 9 quarts of new Mobil 1 10w30 was used for theoil change. All spark plugs werereplaced.

The Clutch was replaced approximately 4000 miles ago.

Cosmetic -- All glass appears in good shape with no apparentcracks or nicks or marks and the body appears in very good shape with noobvious issues especially for a car 20 years of age. On the interior there are no obvious cosmeticor functional problems and the leather seats and plastic dash panels are invery good condition for it\'s age. Allgauges work and lights function appropriately.

Paint is nicely polished. There are one or two paint chips on the body. The only exception is the driver rocker panelwhich has some minor paint bubbling due to heat from the exhaust.

Current power ratings depend highly on the type and age of the dyno used but also the atmospheric conditions including temperature, altitude, humidity and barometric pressure but Horsepower numbers should reach at least 500hp and 540 ft lbs of torque.

The needs of the car:

On the left rocker panel there is some minor bubbling of thepaint due to the heat of the exhaust passing through the panel. This is an extremely common issue with Gen2Vipers.

There is a minor oil seepage that drips onto one of theheader pipes and makes a little smoke once the pipes heat up. It burns off fairly quickly and only occurswhen I haven’t driven the car in a few weeks.

I only have one Key and no remotes for the car. Additional keys are easily available anywhere.

Additional equipment included with purchase:

1.Theoriginal spare tire is included . . . while not terribly exciting, these are rareas they are usually discarded to save weight. . . they go for $300 - $500 onebay.

2.I have the original set of chrome 17” wheels forthe car. They do not fit the Gen3 brakesetup but polished up are worth about $2000-$2500 if you choose to resell them.

3.I have the original Gen2 Brake Calipers. They are worth $1000-$2000 for the set ifyou choose to resell them.

4.I have a Viper shop manual that is included withthe purchase. There are almost $5000 in extras included with this car.

History of the Car:

The car holds a clean California title. Early in the car’s history the car was in aminor front end accident. The detailsof the accident are as follows per the previous owner: The vehicle was involved in a minor front-endcollision prior to my ownership. Theprevious owner explained the incident involving the vehicle coming into contactwith a curb which fractured the front bumper cover, bent the lower control armand caused damage to the front tie rod end. The Bumper cover, tie rod ends and lower control arm were replaced with OEM parts. There was no additional damage to the car.

Car is located in San Diego, California and is being sold as-is, where-is. All shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. I have a clear title in-hand. The reason I am selling is that living in the city makes it difficult to get out and enjoy the car. I want somebody who can exercise the car regularly to buy and enjoy this car while it appreciates!
