Introduced officially in 2003, the Cadillac XLR was intended to be Cadillac premier, luxury sports car. Based on the GM Y-platform chassis like the Corvette, this car was decidedly built in the Bowling Green, KY plant right alongside the famous Chevrolet sports through 2009. With only minor revisions year-to-year, just 15,640 would be produced over the 7-year production run. Only one major enhancement would get the Cadillac buyer’s attention, not to mention the speed enthusiasts very excited, would be the V-series Edition.
