All parts are newaftermarket replacement parts manufactured by Cougars Unlimited LLC and comewith a 2-year limited factory warranty. They are replacement parts to be usedto replace the original Ford parts used in there sequencing tail light systemson models that originally came with sequencing tail lights.
This sequential system kiteliminates the mechanical motor-driven sequencer and directional relay used onthe rubber pad in trunks of the 1968 Cougar. This one-system module replacesthe parts found in the Cougar trunk. Sequential flasher motor (the noisy one),and the directional relay (the big one). It plugs into the original wiringharness and mounts in the original location without any modifications.

Thiselectronic indicator relay is fully compatible with LED or Incandescent bulbs.For the 1968 Cougar, all models, use the C38)C8WY-13A366-AR, It replaces the thermalK5Indicator Relay.
Cougars Unlimited LLCstrongly recommends using WCCC1157RPR (Red for rear) LED bulbs and WCCC1157YPR(Yellow for front) LED bulbs. They have a built in current limiting diode. Thisstops the reverse current flow that causes sequential turn signal systems tomalfunction.

*NOTE: K5 INDICATOR RELAYELECTRONIC 1968 Cougar - When converting to LED bulbs the dash indicator lightswill stop working because the original thermal flasher will stop workingbecause LED bulbs do not draw enough current to activate it. To solve thisproblem Cougars Unlimited LLC makes Electronic Flasher can replacements. Theywork with either LED or Incandescent bulbs.
*NOTE: TURN SIGNAL SWITCH– All turn signal switches sold by Cougars Unlimited LLC are for use with LEDbulbs only. The reason for this is applicable vehicles are now over 50 yearsold the current that sequencing systems draw have greatly increased over time.This is because of the original wiring harnesses and connectors aredeteriorating increasing the resistance. Higher the resistance the higher thecurrent draw across the switch. The current is now so high on most vehiclesthat it exceeds the ratting of the switches, causing them to prematurely fail.The only solution is to convert to LED bulbs, they draw far less current. Onvehicles that have converted to LED the turn signal switches are not failing.The only other solution is to replace the complete wiring harness which isexpensive, and in most cases not possible.
