Does NOT fit a 1961 Mercury Monterey. The filter on the unit runs into the bottom of the tank. I had to modify to fit. (The original sender had no such filter.) ALSO, the stud for the electrical connection came with no nut. Didn't think it was a big deal, but no hardware store had a nut that would fit - very odd thread size. Who doesn't provide a nut when the thread size is non-standard? How much money did that save them? A half a cent? Can't send back (as I said, it had to be modded.) BAD.
